Ever since I've joined the Logos Hope (around seven months ago) I've had the privilege of working as an engine room watchkeeper, at least one week a month and doing odd jobs the reste of the time.I've appreciated working there all this time, being able to learn and serve God while using my common sense.
Though after five months of work I noticed that three of my collegues had been given specific jobs (Welding, Main engines and Generator) while I was still doing odd jobs and lots of cleaning!
Yet the day where I was expecting to work with the plumbers, for a change I was told to clean floorplates instead... (job that you do over and over again as it just gets dirty again). After an hour or two of arguing with myself I finally came to the conclusion that what I was doing was for God's glory and I was able to take pleasure in what I was doing! The same evening I was asked if I wanted to become a plumber!!! I've now been working with Keith and Phips (the plumbers) the past few weeks and enjoy fixing toilets, showers, sinks and doing different piping jobs.
There is a possibility that when Phips leaves in January 2010 I would take his place as head plumber (but that's still unsure), in other words I've got to learn all that I can before he leaves!!!(Phips, my German boss, a really cool guy with whom I get along quite well!)
Prayer Point : Being able to use my time in a God glorifying way (I'm having a hard time being productive with my time and need your prayers!)
